Terms of service

The service

The customer defines the conversion path that should arrive from their site. TraceLog verifies the installation against the events it receives and alerts when a declared element stops arriving. It shows only figures it can support; otherwise, it shows the available evidence instead.

TraceLog is not a general-purpose analytics product. Session replay, configurable dashboards, unrestricted SQL, experimentation, and recommendations about how to improve conversion performance are outside the service.

The account

An organization contains projects and members. Members can be owners, members, or client contacts; a client contact sees only their assigned project. The account holder is responsible for project credentials and for the data sent by installed code.

Plans, prices, and session limits

Each plan has a monthly session limit. One session is one visit. Pricing and billing use that same count, calculated from the daily aggregates used by the product's rates. Verification traffic is excluded.

Crossing a limit or ending a subscription pauses results and the product screens. It never stops capture or samples the data. TraceLog keeps capturing the declared conversion path when a site is busiest, and no TraceLog figure quietly becomes an estimate.

TraceLog's commitments

To process events as a processor under the data processing agreement, in the European Union, for the purposes the customer declares.

To state when a fault originates in TraceLog. A degradation seen across several unrelated projects at once is held back from customer alerts and raised internally instead.

The customer's commitments

To have a lawful basis for the capture they run, to obtain consent where applicable law requires it, and not to send TraceLog special-category data or direct identifiers the product has no field for.

To keep each server key secret. A browser key is public by design and is bound to an origin allowlist. A server key is secret, and anyone holding that server key can write events to its project.

Ending the service

A customer may close an account at any time from the application. Closing it deletes the account's projects, plans, and data according to the schedule in the privacy policy.

TraceLog may suspend an account used unlawfully and will explain why. Suspension pauses results and product screens under the same conditions as a reached limit; it does not corrupt or discard data.

Liability and changes

The service is provided without a warranty that it will be uninterrupted. Where liability cannot be excluded it is limited to the fees paid in the twelve months preceding the claim.

These terms may change; material changes are announced to account owners by email before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that is acceptance.
