Install on Shopify
Conversion tracking for Shopify: install the app, confirm the pre-declared plan, and verify with a Bogus Gateway order. Nothing is typed, and no credential is shown.
On Shopify, TraceLog is an app with a web pixel extension. The app sets up the connection and the purchase plan. You do not copy any key: you only confirm the plan.
Install and confirm
The TraceLog app is not listed in the Shopify App Store yet. Until it is, write to info@tracelog.io and we will set it up with you.
- Install the TraceLog app on your store.
- Approve the requested scopes. The install creates the web pixel for you.
- Confirm the pre-declared plan on the page TraceLog opens: press Confirm and create the account, or Confirm and add the store if you already have an account.
If you do not have a TraceLog account yet, the install creates one from your store's details.
What it declares
Shopify's standard customer events are mapped to the purchase template: the
product, cart and checkout steps, and the purchase conversion identified by
the order number, with its total and currency.
The pixel reads Shopify's customer privacy signal and captures nothing until it allows analytics.
Verify with a test order
Place an order through the Bogus Gateway. The order arrives marked as
verification traffic — the real path runs, nothing is counted — and the
verification session reaches verified.
Why the diagnostics read differently here
Shopify runs the pixel in an isolated environment, so it cannot report to a test tab the way the script tag does. TraceLog reads three signals from Shopify instead:

What the product tells a Shopify store in each case:
No events from your store.
The TraceLog app has not reported from your store yet.
Shopify's privacy signal does not allow analytics.
Grant consent for this test, or check that your consent platform allows TraceLog for real visitors.
The app's connection to the project is not valid.
Reinstall the TraceLog app from your store's admin: its pixel carries the project's key, and nothing is pasted by hand.
After a theme or checkout change
The web pixel is created by the app, not pasted into a theme or into the Additional scripts field, so Shopify's checkout upgrade does not remove it. What to check after any change, and the dates Shopify published, are on verify after a replatform.
